What this challenge is NOT about:

We’re not looking to simply clear your clutter problem once, only to have it recur. Realistically ambitious, we’re looking to give you an identity makeover.

  • This challenge, should you choose to accept it, is about adopting a new self-image in regard to your chronic physical clutter beliefs.

  • This challenge is about identifying the negative beliefs, images and emotions you hold in association with clutter.

  • This challenge is about purging the maladaptive elements of your self image and replacing them with positive beliefs and feelings about your identity as a clutter-free and organized person.

  • This challenge is about changing your identity from that of one who struggles with clutter to one of a person who lives an uncluttered life, naturally.

The struggle with clutter, simply put, is not about the clutter. It’s about you. It’s about who you see yourself to be. It’s about identity.

Why did we create this group?

Over many years of coaching, teaching, and speaking with individuals who have ADHD, one concern that is consistently mentioned in the community is clutter.

Clutter creates a sense of overwhelm, causes us to procrastinate and very often prevents us from addressing important events. Life quickly gets out of control with ADHD. Our overall mission at RenaFi is to help you manage it.

Decluttering and creating a clean slate is a starting point to help you do that.

We designed this Challenge to address ADHD in motion..behavior, thought processes, and taking action.

We also understand that there are literally hundreds of articles, books, podcasts and programs out there that promise to help you declutter.

How have those worked for you?

Let’s face it. If they’d worked, you wouldn’t have read this far.

“Clutter has always been a significant obstacle in managing my ADHD, as it heightened my sense of overwhelm and made focusing on tasks nearly impossible. The disorganized environment mirrored the chaos in my mind, constantly distracting me and making it difficult to prioritize or complete projects. However, once I started decluttering and developed a system that worked, the impact on my mental clarity was profound. A tidy space created a calming atmosphere, allowing me to concentrate better and manage my ADHD symptoms more effectively. My sense of “identity” changed. Decluttering brought a sense of order and control, helping me to think more clearly and stay on top of my responsibilities. If clutter is a challenge in your life, especially if you have ADHD, I highly recommend taking the steps to declutter. The benefits are truly life-changing.”

Why Clutter is Detrimental to People with ADHD?

Declutter Stock Photos (2).png

For you, clutter might be more than just a nuisance; it can significantly impact your mental and emotional well-being. Here’s why:

1. Overstimulation:

Clutter creates visual chaos that can be overwhelming and distracting. For people with ADHD, this overstimulation makes it even harder to focus on tasks and stay organized.

2. Increased Stress and Anxiety:

A cluttered environment can lead to feelings of stress and anxiety. The constant visual reminder of disorganization can make you feel out of control and overwhelmed.

3. Difficulty Prioritizing:

ADHD often makes it challenging to prioritize tasks. Clutter adds to this difficulty by making it hard to see what needs to be done first, leading to procrastination and a sense of being stuck.

4. Impaired Executive Functioning:

Executive functioning skills, such as planning, organizing, and time management, are often impaired in individuals with ADHD. Clutter exacerbates these challenges by making it harder to find necessary items and keep track of responsibilities.

5. Emotional Toll:

Clutter can lead to feelings of shame and guilt, particularly if you feel you should be able to maintain a tidy space but struggle to do so. This emotional burden can affect your self-esteem and overall mental health.

Addressing clutter is crucial for creating an environment that supports better focus, reduces stress, and enhances overall well-being. Our 5-Week Declutter Challenge is designed with your unique needs in mind, providing practical solutions and compassionate support.

How declutter contributes to good health:

Physical health

Decluttering can help prevent pests and reduce dust, mold, and mildew, which can trigger allergies and asthma. A clean and organized environment can also help motivate people to engage in healthier habits, such as exercise or eating a more nutritious diet.

Sleep

Decluttering can help people fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer. A relaxed mind can help people sleep better, and a tidy room with great bedding can also contribute to better sleep.

Productivity

Decluttering can also help improve productivity. For example, decluttering an office can make it easier for cleaners to target areas that could be harboring bugs and viruses.

Mental health

Decluttering can help reduce stress and anxiety, and improve mood. It can also help create a sense of order and stability, which can be especially important for people with anxiety disorders or depression. Decluttering can also help improve mental clarity and boost confidence and self-esteem.
